How to Apply
To get into Durban University of Technology, you must submit your application through CAO, this is how, first you need to prepare your documents and they must be certified not older than 6 months.

Certified copy of your Senior Certificate/National Senior Certificate and all other relevant documents.

Step 1: Enter your ID number or your Cao number if you have it
Step 2: Enter your personal details then proceed you will then get your Cao number and password
Step 3: Capture your next of kin details
Step 4: Enter your grade 11 results or your grade 12 results
Step 5: Choose the courses you want to apply for (you can choose up to 6 choices)
Step 6: Save your Cao number, password and the number to pay the apication fee)
Step 7: Upload the required documents. After submitting your documents you can exit the application process.
How to pay the Application Fee
You can pay both administration fees Online OR via EasyPay
You may pay the administration fee ONLINE by credit card:
1. At the same time that you apply
2. After you click ‘Process my Application’ a message will appear telling you how you may
pay the application administration fee.
If you applied online or via the APP and wish to pay later:
1. Go to www.cao.ac.za
2. Click on ‘My Application’ and enter your CAO or ID Number and click ‘Submit’
3. Thereafter click on ‘Pay Now by Credit Card’
If you have submitted a hard copy form:
1. Go to www.cao.ac.za
2.Click on ‘My Application’
3. Enter the CAO number that is on the hardcopy application form you have or
intend submitting and click ‘Submit’
4. Thereafter, click on ‘Make a Payment
You may pay the administration fee at any EasyPay outlet, like Shoprite, Checkers,
Pick 'n Pay, Boxer Superstores, Woolworths etc. (Please use your unique EasyPay number
as the reference when making payment)
